Anthony Scaramucci’s new publication the Scaramucci Post which is, as of now, only an account on Twitter, asked its followers on Tuesday morning to vote on how many Jews they believe were killed during the Holocaust.
Scaramucci, who was forced out as White House Communications Director after an eventful ten-day tenure, said that he was unaware of the post, which he claims was posted “media director,” Lance Laifer. He explained it was intended to “promote Holocaust education and awareness in the wake of an offensive Halloween costume depicting Anne Frank.”
Scaramucci issued an apology via his Twitter account, and it was subsequently re-posted onto his “Scaramucci Post” account. He nobly took full responsibility for the mishap and promised better vetting of content in the future.

On Oct. 3, Scaramucci, in a private event in the basement of the Hunt & Fish Club, an upscale restaurant he owns in New York, first tipped off friends and the press of his new venture. In a back and forth with reporters invited to the event, he hinted at the publications tone. When asked what his new platform would be, he told reporters, “Say Scaramucci has absolutely no idea what he’s doing, and he has absolutely no idea what Scaramucci Post is.”
