Anna Morgan-Lloyd, First Capitol Rioter To Be Sentenced, Gets Probation & $500 Fine

Anna Morgan-Lloyd, a 49-year-old grandmother from Indiana who participated in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, was given three-years probation for her activities that day, becoming the first person sentenced in the January insurrection.

Morgan-Lloyd pleaded guilty in court. Washington, D.C., District Judge Royce Lamberth also added 40 hours of community service and a $500 fine in the sentencing on Wednesday.

After participating in the riot, Morgan-Lloyd posted on Facebook saying it was the “best … day ever.”

Prior to receiving her sentence on Wednesday, Morgan-Lloyd apologized, weeping in front of the judge for having a “disgraceful” day.
