Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang announced Tuesday night that he is dropping out of the presidential campaign after a weak eighth place finish in the New Hampshire primary.
Yang made a name for himself by supporting a Universal Basic Income (UBI), which he called a “Freedom Dividend.” Yang’s UBI proposal called for giving every American $1,000 per month to spend as they wish. Yang is a self-made entrepreneur, who made a fortune in the tech sector and offered a platform of unconventional ideas that appealed to Independents and moderate Republicans.
