After Ex-Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Leaves Democratic Party, Critics Say She Was Big Part Of The Problem

Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House press secretary during Joe Biden‘s term in office, announced that she has left the Democratic Party as her new book, Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines, is set to be released in October.

The book aims to detail Jean-Pierre’s time serving under two Democratic Presidents, Biden and former President Barack Obama, and how she witnessed the “betrayal” of the Democratic Party that led to Biden dropping his reelection bid in 2024.

“Until January 20, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the President of the United States,” said Jean-Pierre in a public statement. “At noon on that day, I became a private citizen who, like all Americans and many of our allies around the world, had to contend with what was to come next for our country.”

She then criticized the two-party system that defines American politics.

“I determined that the danger we face as a country requires freeing ourselves of boxes. We need to be willing to exercise the ability to think creatively and plan strategically,” said Jean-Pierre.

The book’s description outlines how Jean-Pierre defected from the Democratic Party and now urges Americans to “step beyond party lines to embrace life as Independents” and “think outside of the blue-and-red box as we consider what’s next to save our democracy.”

The announcement of Jean-Pierre’s book is yet another addition to a collection of sources critical of Biden and his questionable mental condition during his time as president.

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson recently released their new book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. The book alleges that Biden’s poor mental acuity was hidden by his aides and that the presidency became, “at best, a five-person board with Joe Biden as chairman of the board.”

In an interview with NPR, Tapper said that the book provides insight into Biden’s mental decline based on inside sources. We in the public would see some of it in front of the cameras … but we had no idea how bad it was,” said Tapper.

Many Democrats have gone to the press in recent days to claim that Jean-Pierre was really problem in the White House, providing an ineffective communications strategy for her boss.
