WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 27: Senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump Stephen Miller watches as U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions delivers remarks during the daily White House press briefing March 27, 2017 in Washington, DC.
ABC News Correspondent Terry Moran has been suspended following a now-deleted post on X.
In the post, Moran had called Trump administration deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller a “world-class hater.” Moran wrote: “Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater.”
ABC News stated that Moran’s post had violated the company’s policies to maintain objectivity in its reporting.
Republicans were quick to criticize Moran. Vice President JD Vance posted on X, denouncing Moran for posting something filled with hatred. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted on X, saying that she contacted ABC News to find out how they intend to respond to Moran’s post.

Moran’s post wasn’t the first time he’d incited the ire of Republicans. In late April, for President Donald Trump’s 100th day in office, Moran interviewed Trump in the Oval Office.
On the topic of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a migrant who was wrongly deported, Trump demanded that Moran agree that Garcia had a tattoo of MS-13, an international gang primarily made up of El Salvadorians, something that many gang experts have stated is unlikely to denote gang membership. The image Trump referenced is widely believed to be Photoshopped.
Throughout the interview, Trump continued to attack Moran and ABC. Trump accused Moran of asking him “fake questions” and being dishonest. Toward the end of the interview, Trump attacked ABC, stating that they are an organization that’s “fake news” and “one of the worst.”
ABC News said it will subject Moran to an extended evaluation in the future.
