The Department would focus on education, fixing the issue of students going to prison after leaving school, and address community-police relationships.

It would help international governments resolve conflicts without going to war, help in the areas of education, healthcare and food instability.

The proposal says the America’s values are clearly indicated by its budget. “The Defense Department has a military budget of $718 billion – almost larger than that of all other nations combined – while our State Department budget – including all peace-creation agencies – is $40 billion.”

Williamson said, “The independent U.S. Institute of Peace has a budget of only $36.8 million. As president, I will make the relationship between the State Department and the Department of Defense a robust partnership.”
