Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) threatened to remove Kevin McCarthy as House speaker if he does not initiate an impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden.
On Tuesday, Gaetz delivered his demands on the House floor. “I rise today to serve notice − Mr. Speaker you are out of compliance with the agreement that allowed you to assume this role,” Gaetz said of the agreement that allowed McCarthy to win the speaker’s election.
“Reflect on the spirit of that agreement, build on the start we had moments ago. Began to comply no continuing resolutions, individual spending bills or bust, vote on balanced budgets and term limits,” Gaetz continued. “Subpoena for Hunter Bident and the members of the Biden family who’s been drifting off on this country.”

Republicans have made a number of allegations about Biden but so far have not provided any evidence of crimes by the president.
Gaetz conceded that Republicans might not have the votes to impeach Biden. “At least if we take votes the American people will see who’s fighting for them and who’s willing to tolerate corruption and business as usual,” he said.
