White House Staffers Now Required To Wear Face Masks Despite Trump’s Resistance

White House West Wing staffers were presented with a memo requiring them to wear face coverings this week.

After the vice president’s spokeswoman Katie Miller and one of Trump’s valets tested positive for COVID-19 last Friday, White House officials told staffers to avoid cramped offices and always wear face masks in the West Wing, except when seated at their personal desks.

“We are requiring everyone who enters the West Wing to wear a mask or facial covering,” the White House press office said. “Unless you absolutely need to conduct in-person business in the West Wing, we respectfully ask you to avoid unnecessary visits.”

Staffers were also told to avoid visits to the executive offices that President Donald Trump frequents on a daily basis to minimize risks.
