Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) announced that he will propose legislation named after Dr. Anthony Fauci after the doctor was caught calling Marshall a “moron” on a hot mic earlier this week.
The outburst came after Marshall questioned Fauci if he would be willing to disclose his financial records.
“I don’t understand why you’re asking me that question,” Fauci responded. “My financial disclosure is public knowledge and has been so for the last 37 years or so. All you have to do is ask for it. You’re so misinformed, it’s extraordinary.”
The Financial Accountability for Uniquely Compensated Individuals (FAUCI) Act would require the Office of Government Ethics to show a list of financial records for administration officials like Fauci and provide a list of those in the government who do not have public financial records.

Marshall insisted that his team could not obtain them.
“It takes the NIH (National Institute of Health), it takes this White House months to respond to any type of request for information, and then it’s redacted,” Marshall told Fox. “It’s quite a game they’re playing. So I was shocked, I was shocked by his response.”
Fauci is correct that his financial records are public knowledge, but a reporter from the Center for Public Integrity said the records are difficult to obtain. She reported that it took more than two months and some “polite badgering” to get the records.
“The NIH also chose to give the disclosure to me under the Freedom of Information Act, which they didn’t need to do and caused the document to be partially redacted. (Though most of the information about Fauci’s income, gifts and investments in 2019 is still there for all to see.),” the reporter added.
The FAUCI Act would make it easier to obtain White House Officials’ financial records.
