Biden Announces Acquisition Of 200 Million New COVID-19 Vaccine Doses, Enough For All Americans
“We can do this. We have the resources,” President Joe Biden said at a press conference announcing that the U.S. had acquired 200 million new COVID-19 vaccine doses. “We just have to choose to use them.”
Biden said on Thursday that with this new order of vaccines, the United States will have a combined supply of 600 million Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.
Biden further explained that the new 200 million doses will be available starting in May instead of June which had been projected. The newest Biden vaccine order doubles a 200 million dose purchase in January.
“To all of you, your work made possible the remarkable rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines we have today. It’s incredible. On behalf of a grateful nation, I want to thank you and your families for your work and your sacrifice,” said Biden while visiting the National Institute of Health’s vaccine center.
