Ivanka Trump Deletes Tweet Calling Trump Rioters ‘American Patriots’
While the House members and Senators have been quick to denounce the protesters who stormed the Capitol building as “domestic terrorists,” as Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) said and “insurrectionists,” as Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) termed them, Ivanka Trump, similarly to her father, President Donald Trump, called the same people “American Patriots.”
Her now-deleted tweet reads “American Patriots — any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable. The violence must stop immediately. Please be peaceful.”
Ivanka’s tweet reads very similar to Donald Trump’s from the same day: “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”
Both tweets did little to slow the mob on Capitol Hill which only dispersed after the entire D.C. Army National Guard was deployed.

While Ivanka deleted her tweet and clarified through a tweet reply, “Peaceful protest is patriotic. Violence is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms,” Donald Trump’s tweets were removed by Twitter and he was subsequently banned for 12 hours.
