Joe & Jill Biden Mark Memorial Day Wearing Masks At Delaware Military Cemetery
After more than two months of quarantining, former Vice President Joe Biden made his first outing at a memorial park near his home in Delaware.
On Monday, Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, laid a wreath of white roses on the main memorial site at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
Both Biden and his wife were wearing black cloth masks, unlike President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly refused to wear one on in public.
Biden’s outing was the first since March, 10, when he canceled a rally in Cleveland, Ohio, after he was advised to do so as COVID-19 had started spreading in the city.

There were no crowds awaiting him, only some county officials. As soon as Biden got out of the car, he expressed his joy.
“It’s so great to be out here,” he murmured to his wife. After laying the white wreath before the memorial, he turned to a larger group of officials to express his gratitude.
“Thank you for your service,” he yelled, then reentered the car accompanied by his wife.
On the same day, President Donald Trump commemorated the fallen at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia and Fort McHenry in Baltimore. The sitting president also opted for a wreath-laying ceremony without wearing a mask.
Like Biden, he thanked public officials for being “on the front lines of our war against this terrible virus.”
In response to the severe outbreak, Biden has installed a television studio in his house and continues to get out his message for his campaign from his basement. He is 77, only three years older than Trump, and considers himself vulnerable during the pandemic.
His campaign manager Jen O’ Malley Dillon affirmed the campaign will not jeopardize anyone’s life to campaign. “We will never make choices that put our staff or voters in harm’s way,” she said, later adding that, for now, waiting is necessary.
