Fox News contributor and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has called the New York Times Magazine series into the roots of slavery "a lie." The project, 1619, “aims to reframe the country's history, understanding 1619 as our true founding and placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the story tell we tell ourselves about who we are,” said the paper. Gingrich was asked his thoughts on it by Fox News correspondent Griff Jenkins. “The whole project is a lie,” he responded. Gingrich claimed that the majority of Americans do not think of slavery all the time, but for African Americans “slavery is at the center of what you see as the American experience.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUcVUizyt1g On Sunday, he tweeted “The NY Times 1619 Project should make its slogan 'All the Propaganda we want to brainwash you with'.it is a repudiation of the original NY Times motto.” https://twitter.com/newtgingrich/status/1162981114383949826 He posted another tweet attacking Democrats. “The left doesn’t get it. Slavery was AND IS terrible (there are slaves today who need liberating). A 1619 history of slavery project is great. Insisting that slavery is THE defining reality of America is simply factually wrong,” he tweeted. https://twitter.com/newtgingrich/status/1163313897874608129 WATCH BETO TAKEDOWN TRUMP: [cedato video=669652147]
