CNN commentator Paul Begala forecast at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's annual conference this week that President Donald Trump will replace Vice President Mike Pence with U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on the 2020 ticket. "This is not a prediction. It's a certainty. On Thursday, July 16 — that's the date the Democrat gives his or her acceptance address — on that day, to interrupt that narrative, Donald Trump will call a news conference at Mar-a-Lago. He's going to dump Mike Pence and put Nikki Haley on the ticket to try to get those suburban moms," Begala predicted from the panel discussion. CHECK CURRENT DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY DELEGATE TOTALS HERE! Trump had appointed Pence as the coordinator of the U.S. government's response to the coronavirus last week at a spur-of-the-moment news conference meant to assuage public concern about the epidemic. He made the appointment when there were only 60 confirmed U.S. cases, all of which infected citizens from crossing U.S. borders and not one death on U.S. soil had occurred. There are now at least 100 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the U.S., and there have been six deaths. "You watch. Guaranteed," Begala said. "Trump put Pence in charge of coronavirus to throw him under the bus."
