Vice President Mike Pence defended President Donald Trump's decision to assassinate Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani in a drone strike at the Baghdad International Airport in a series of tweets, which pressed a false conspiracy theory connecting the Sept. 11, 2001, Islamic terrorist attacks to Iran. In the series of tweets, Pence depicted Trump as a hero and simultaneously called Soleimani an evil terrorist who had been responsible for the slaughtering of thousands of Americans. He then listed some of Soleimani's most grotesque actions against the U.S. Pence also portrayed Soleimani as a man who had threatened American national security interests for decades.
