Trump Calls GOP Members Of Wayne County Board Of Canvassers In Effort To Overturn Election Results

On Thursday, chairwoman of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers Monica Palmer received a phone call from President Donald Trump after she initially voted against certifying the county’s election results before eventually voting to confirm the results.

Palmer said there was “a lot of stress and adrenaline that night.” Trump had reached out to Palmer to check in with her after she received death threats.

“He was checking to make sure I was safe after seeing/hearing about the threats and doxxing,” she stated.

When describing in detail what threats she received, Palmer added, “The threats have been made against myself, my daughter and my husband. Reports have been filed with Grosse Pointe Woods police and the FBI.”

WIlliam Hartman, another Republican member of the board, has also received a personal phone call from Trump.

Both Palmer and Hartman reversed their votes against certifying the election results. The board was initially tied between certifying and not certifying with a 2-2 vote.

Despite voting against certifying the results, Palmer then compromised and said, “I would be open to a motion to certify communities other than the city of Detroit.”
