On Friday, the office of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) announced that the certification of election results was complete through a press statement.
Georgia completing its certification of the results before the December 8 meeting of the Electoral College may hinder President Donald Trump‘s efforts to delay certification in key states. The Trump campaign has actively been trying to overturn President-elect Joe Biden‘s victory by blocking these counting processes.
Raffensperfer has previously criticized the president and his administration for “undermining the vote count process.”
In a press conference, he said, “Numbers don’t lie. As Secretary of State, I believe that the numbers that we are presented today are correct.”
