2020 Election

George W. Bush To Attend Joe Biden Inauguration

While many Republican members of the House and Senate have refused to acknowledge President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election, in a public statement a spokesperson for George W. Bush announced that the former Republican president would be in attendance at this month’s inauguration.

In the statement, Bush spokesperson Freddy Ford tweeted, “I believe this will be the eighth inauguration they’ve had the privilege of attending — President Trump’s being the most recent — and witnessing the peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our democracy that never gets old.”

Bush’s announcement came on the same day that 7 Senators and over 140 House members publicly objected to the certification of Biden’s win in congressional session on Wednesday.  Pro-Trump rioters briefly overran the Capitol and delayed the vote.

President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he will not attend Biden’s inauguration this month.
