‘The Washington Post’ Endorses Joe Biden

The Washington Post‘s editorial board has endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

In an editorial, the newspaper called President Donald Trump as a “negative example has demonstrated how essential in a president are decency, empathy and respect for other human beings.”

The newspaper went to as far as calling out Trump for having “few accomplishments” during his term as well as “having no agenda for his second.”

The Post described Biden as a deeply qualified candidate who is ready “to meet the daunting challenges that the nation will face over the coming four years.”

It asserted that the Democratic candidate would be able to handle national problems “created, exacerbated or neglected by the incumbent.”

Commenting on foreign affairs, the editorial said Biden would “better position the United States as a capitalist competitor to China” and “an enormously positive change from the Trump administration.”

The editorial ended with a jab at the president’s poor leadership, saying Biden “would rejoin the Paris accord on climate change and seek to revive the nuclear deal with Iran. He would reverse Mr. Trump’s senseless withdrawal from the World Health Organization, and commit the United States to multilateral efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.”
