Postmaster General Louis DeJoy Incentivized His Company Employees To Make GOP Donations, Raising Money Laundering Concerns

Louis Dejoy, the U.S. Postmaster General, allegedly incentivized his employees, when he was chief executive of New Breed Logistics, to his fundraising campaigns for the Republican Party.

The company’s human resources director David Young commented, “He asked employees for money. We gave him the money.” Young, who donated over $19,000, noted that no employee ever lost their job because they did not donate to the campaign, but they were incentivized to do so in other means.

Young said, “[DeJoy] reciprocated by giving us big bonuses. When we got our bonuses, let’s just say they were bigger, they exceeded expectations.”

DeJoy has been under investigation by Democrats in Congress for crisis in the U.S. postal service since he took over.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-California) called for a deeper investigation that should be conducted by the North Carolina Attorney General, independent from Donald Trump‘s Justice Department.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-California) tweeted about the need to fire “a US Postmaster who engaged in campaign money laundering.”
