On Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she will be seeking another term when asked on CNN’s State of the Union.
When asked by Jake Tapper, Pelosi said, “Yes I am. Let me also say we have to win the Senate.”
Pelosi also commented on coronavirus stimulus negotiations with Treasury Secretary Mike Mnuchin.
Although chances of passing a coronavirus stimulus bill before the November election appear slim, Pelosi has said that “the proposed language of coronavirus testing remains a sticking point in talks.”

The House Speaker asserted, “We want to do it as soon as possible. I thought the President did too and that was part of the leverage that each side had that we both wanted an agreement.”
“Why would we even be talking to each other if we didn’t believe that we could reach an agreement?” she added. “So, again, it could happen this week in the House but that’s up to Mitch as to whether it would happen in the Senate and go to the President’s desk, which is our hope and prayer.”
